STUFFED FIGS

 

Preheat the barbecue. Cut out 8 x 18-cm/7-inch squares of foil.
Make two small slits in each fig, then place on a square of foil.
Put the cream cheese in a bowl. Add the cinnamon and stir until well combined. Stuff the inside of each fig with the cream cheese mixture, then sprinkle a teaspoon of sugar over each one.
Close the foil around each fig to make a parcel.
Put the parcels on the barbecue and cook over hot coals, frequently turning, for about 10 minutes, or until the figs are tender. Transfer the figs to serving plates and serve immediately.

8 fresh figs
100 g/3 1/2 oz cream cheese
1 tsp ground cinnamon
8 tsp brown sugar
