Day 1
Day 1

Hanoi → Mai Chau → Pu Luong → Hieu Waterfall

The journey begins in Hanoi in the morning as your private guide and driver accompany you southwest toward the mountain valleys of Mai Chau and Pu Luong. As the road gradually leaves the city behind, the scenery changes into limestone mountains, rice terraces, countryside farmland, and quieter rural landscapes of northern Vietnam. Lunch is served in the Mai Chau region before continuing deeper into Pu Luong Nature Reserve. Arriving in Pu Luong during the early afternoon, guests check into their homestay or lodge before beginning a scenic countryside hike toward Hieu Waterfall with the local guide. The route passes rice terraces, bamboo forests, streams, suspension bridges, and traditional Thai villages hidden beneath the mountains. Along the way, your guide shares insight into the local culture, traditional village life, and the rhythms of the Thai ethnic communities living throughout the valley. Reaching Hieu Waterfall, guests have time to relax beside the natural pools, enjoy the peaceful forest surroundings, or swim in the clear mountain water after the afternoon walk. Later in the day, transportation returns guests comfortably to the homestay or lodge for dinner, rest, and overnight stay in Pu Luong. Walking distance: approx. 4–5 km · Easy to moderate countryside walking.

Day 2
Day 2

Don Village Walk → Return to Hanoi

The morning begins slowly with breakfast overlooking the valleys and rice terraces of Pu Luong. Together with your guide, the day continues with a relaxed countryside walk through Don Village — one of the most scenic areas of the reserve where rice terraces, limestone mountains, streams, farmland, and traditional wooden houses blend naturally into the surrounding landscape. The route follows quiet village paths designed more for atmosphere and scenery than difficult trekking, allowing time for photography, cultural interaction, and enjoying the slower rhythm of mountain life. Depending on the day and local activity, guests may also visit local homes to learn more about village life, weaving traditions, farming culture, and everyday life inside the Thai communities of Pu Luong. After returning for lunch, guests check out from the homestay or lodge before beginning the comfortable drive back toward Hanoi. Arrival back at your hotel in Hanoi takes place in the early evening, concluding the experience. Walking distance: approx. 3–4 km · Gentle countryside walking.
